500-year-old Thozhuvancode Sree Chamundi Devi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, managed by the family of the “Kalari guru” of the erstwhile Ettuveettil Tharavaad,is a rising centre of pilgrimage in Trivandrum.This is a very beautiful temple with unique sculptures which one can find no where else.

The main diety is Chamundeswari devi.The other dieties worshipped here are Mohini yakshi,Durga Devi,Karinkali Devi,Hanuman,Ganapathy,Thamburan,Anantha and navagraha.

Thozhuvancode Chamundi Devi Temple is a famous Goddess temple located in Vattiyoorkavu, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The temple around 500 years old is managed by family of the “Kalari guru” of the erstwhile Ettuveettil Tharavaad. The temple enshrines Goddess Chamundeswari Devi, the fierce form of Durga.

The temple features beautiful sculptures of Hindu gods and goddess. Sub deities worshiped in the temple are Lord Ganapathy, Hanuman, Mohini Yakshi, Durga Devi, Karinkali Devi, Navagraha, and Thamburan. Thozhuvancode Chamundi Temple is not open on all days. The temple functions on Tuesday, Friday and Sundays only.

Karikkakom Devi Temple or Karikkakom Chamundi Devi Temple is a famous Goddess Temple in Trivadrum, Kerala. This ancient temple, more than 600 years old, is situated at Karikkakom, around 7 km north of Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The temple enshrines a Panchaloha idol (traditional five-metal alloys) of Goddess Karikakathamma – an incarnation of Goddess Parvati Devi. The annual Pongala festival at Karikkakom Devi Temple attracts thousands of devotees from around the state.

Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple

Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple is one of the important sacred pilgrims centers in north Kerala. It stands on the banks of Valapattanam river which originates in western ghats and empties itself in Arabian sea. We can call it a holy river as it is an ornament for various shrines including Kottiyoor hills. It is the tributary of the sacred Bavali river .We have not exact date of inception of this temple but it has 450 years history.

This temple gives spiritual comfort and relief to all irrespective of their caste creed or religion of the people belonging from Chandragiri puzha to Korapuzha and from Valapattanam to Hunzoor (Karnataka) .There are Muslims ,Christians and many foreigners who visit the temple every day.The temple provides free meals and free accommodation to every one who comes there There is also the supply of tea and boiled green grams as prasadam.

എന്തുകൊണ്ട് നടയ്ക്കു നേരെ നിന്ന് തൊഴരുത്?


ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് തൊഴാനെത്തുന്ന ഭക്തര് ശ്രീകോവിലിന് നേരെ നടയില് നിന്ന് തൊഴുതാല് അറിവുള്ളവര് ശാസിക്കാറുണ്ട്. മിക്ക അമ്പലങ്ങളിലും ഇതൊഴിവാക്കാനായി വേലി കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് പതിവ്. നടയ്ക്കു നേരെ നില്ക്കാതെ ഇടത്തോ വലത്തോ നീങ്ങി ഏതാണ്ട് മുപ്പത് ഡിഗ്രി ചരിഞ്ഞ് നിന്ന് വേണം തൊഴാന്. ബിംബത്തില് കുടികൊള്ളുന്ന കാന്തികരശ്മി അഥവാ ദേവചൈതന്യം ഭക്തനിലേക്ക് സര്പ്പാകൃതിയിലാണ് എത്തിച്ചേരുന്നത്.

ഈ സമയം കൈകാലുകള് ചേര്ത്ത് ഇരുകൈകളും താമരമൊട്ടുപോലെ പിടിച്ച് ധ്യാനിക്കണമെന്നാണ് വിധി. അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് പരസ്പരം സ്പര്ശിക്കുന്ന വിരലുകള് വഴി തലച്ചോറിലെ പ്രാണോര്ജ്ജം അതിശക്തിയായി ശരീരമാസകലം വ്യാപിക്കും.

ഇത്തരത്തില് പ്രാണോര്ജ്ജം വ്യാപിക്കുന്ന വഴി ആചാര്യന്മാര് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പൃഥിശക്തി ചെറുവിരല് വഴിയും ജലശക്തി മോതിരവിരല് വഴിയും അഗ്നിശക്തി നടുവിരല് വഴിയും വായുശക്തി ചൂണ്ടുവിരല് വഴിയും ആകാശശക്തി പെരുവിരല് വഴിയും സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

പൃഥിശക്തി ശരീരബലം നല്കുമ്പോള് ജലശക്തിയാകട്ടെ പ്രാണവികാരബലമാണ് നല്കുന്നത്. അഗ്നിശക്തി മനോബുദ്ധിബലം നല്കുമ്പോള് വായുശക്തിയാകട്ട

െ ബോധബലം നല്കുന്നു. ആത്മബലം നല്കാന് ആകാശശക്തി ഉപകരിക്കും.

Parasurama Temple is a 2000-year old, temple located at Thiruvallam near Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Nestled on the beautiful banks of Karamana River, this temple is dedicated to Lord Parasurama, the creator of the state as per the Mythology. Thiruvallam Parasurama Temple is famous as a holy spot for ancestor worship. A great feature of this temple is that it has separate shrines for Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma. Another uniqueness of this temple is that it is situated at the merging of 3 rivers (Triveni Sangama), namely, Karamana River, Killi River, and Parvathiputhanar River.
