Eruthavoor Muruga Temple or Eruthavoor Subramanya Swamy Temple (എരുത്താവൂർ മുരുക ക്ഷേത്രം) is a well-known temple located on the Balaramapuram – Kattakada Road in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is believed to be one of the earliest rock-cut cave temples in Kerala. This rock cut cave is now a protected monument under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India since 1965.

Azhimala in Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram, beautiful with the quiet yet unpredictable ocean, smooth fisherfolk, a modest bunch of travelers, and the worshipped Shiva Temple, is currently host to a gathering of sightseers. തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയില്‍ കല്ലിയൂര്‍ പഞ്ചായത്തിലാണ് നൂറ്റാണ്ടുക്കള്‍ പഴക്കമുള്ള വെള്ളായണി ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം. കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രസിദ്ധ ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണിത്…ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ നിന്നും കുറച്ച് അകലെ വെള്ളായണിക്കായല്‍. ഒരുകാലത്ത് കായലിന്റെ പരിസരത്തെ തെങ്ങുകളില്‍ കള്ളുചെത്തിയിരുന്ന ഒരു ചെത്തുകാരന്‍. അയാള്‍ കള്ളെടുക്കാനെത്തുമ്പോഴേക്കും കലത്തില്‍ കള്ളു കാണാനില്ല. ഇതു പതിവായപ്പോള്‍ കള്ള് ആരോ മോഷ്ടിക്കുകയാണെന്ന് തോന്നി.കള്ളനെ കയ്യോടെ പിടികൂടാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച അയാളുടെ മുന്നില്‍പ്പെട്ടത് ഒരു തവളയായിരുന്നു. അത് ഒരു തെങ്ങില്‍ നിന്നും മറ്റൊന്നിലേയ്ക്ക് ചാടി കള്ളൂറ്റിക്കുടിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് അയാള്‍ക്ക് ബോധ്യമായി. എന്നാല്‍ അതുപോലൊരു തവളയെ മുന്‍പൊരിക്കലും അയാള്‍ കണ്ടിരുന്നില്ല. വിചിത്രമായ തവളയെ പിടികൂടാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടും നടക്കാതെ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ കൈയ്യിലിരുന്ന തേര്‍കൊണ്ടാരു ഏറുകൊടുത്തു.കാലില്‍ ഏറുകൊണ്ട തവള കായലില്‍ ചാടി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. തവളയില്‍ അസാധാരണശക്തി വൈഭവമാണ് അയാള്‍ ദര്‍ശിച്ചത്. ചെത്തുകാരൻ മഹാമാന്തികൻ ആയ കേളൻകുലശേഖരനോട് തൻറെ അനുഭവം അറിയിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം തൻറെ അതുല്യമായ ശക്തിയാൽ അത് വെറുമൊരു തവളയല്ല ലോകമാതാവായ ശ്രീഭദ്രയാണെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തി.തുടർന്ന് ഏഴുദിവസത്തെ തിരച്ചലിനുശേഷം ദേവിയെ കണ്ടെത്തി മുടിപ്പുരപണിത് ഭദ്രകാളിയെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചുവെന്ന് ഐതിഹ്യം. വെള്ളായണി കൊട്ടാരത്തില്‍ കഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ മഹാറാണി സേതുലക്ഷ്മിഭായി തമ്പുരാട്ടി തങ്കത്തിരുമുടി നിര്‍മ്മിച്ച് ദേവിക്ക് സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി….പ്രധാന ശ്രീകോവിലില്‍ ഭദ്രകാളി. വടക്കോട്ടാണ് ദര്‍ശനം. ശ്രീകോവിലിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് വടക്കോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും നടപ്പുരയുണ്ട്. നിത്യവും വൈകിട്ട് ആറുമണിക്ക് നട തുറക്കും. ഏഴരയ്ക്ക് ദീപാരാധന നടക്കും. എന്നാല്‍ ചൊവ്വ, വെള്ളി, ഞായര്‍ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് പന്ത്രണ്ട് മണിക്ക് നടതുറന്ന് ഒന്നരയ്ക്ക് മധു പൂജയുണ്ട്. ഇവിടുത്തെ ഭഗവതിയുടെ പ്രസാദത്തിന് ചാര്‍ത്തുപൊടി എന്നാണ് പറയുക. മാടനാണ് ഉപദേവന്‍…ക്ഷേത്രപ്രവേശനവിളംബരത്തിനു മുമ്പേ എല്ലാ ജാതി മതസ്ഥർക്കും പ്രവേശനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെ ഒരു മഹാ ക്ഷേത്രം ആണിത്.. വൈവിദ്ധ്യമാർന്ന ആചാര അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങൾ… ദേവിയുടെ മുന്നിൽ എല്ലാവരും തുല്യർ അവിടെ അവകാശ അധികാരങ്ങൾ ഇല്ല.,,
